Webhook Activation

Good afternoon!

Is there any possibility of activating the abandoned cart webhook via API?

Hey @leoamaral, how’s it going?

As far as I know, the only way to interact with the data from the last abandoned cart recorded for a customer would be using the rclastcart field from the CL entity.

Taking this opportunity, I think it would be worth VTEX considering richer, more technical documentation on abandoned carts, because at least from my perspective — having followed the Community on a daily basis — I’ve seen questions related to this topic grow quite a lot, and I honestly find the existing VTEX documentation on the subject pretty lacking.

Good morning everyone!

@nat and @andremiani

Have you ever seen the abandoned cart being triggered by some kind of API? I know it’s possible to trigger the order status via API, but I’m not sure if the same can be done with abandoned cart.

I also have the same question @leoamaral
Were you able to resolve it somehow?

Unfortunately not. From what I could find, the abandoned cart can only be configured through Master Data

hey @nat and @leoamaral, @georgebrindeiro once posted a message in the community explaining that the abandoned cart depends on the session system to record events and send them to masterdata… meaning, it might not be possible to trigger it via API… I tried to find the message but couldn’t… but I had read something along those lines.

This is really bad on VTEX’s end. I’ve been struggling with this for almost a year now.
I was even going to integrate with RD Marketing, but after I saw that to set up automated email sends I have to do it through customer segmentation, it’s pointless, because the customer will only enter the automation once. To actually “automate” it, I’d have to change the “automation” date manually every single day in RD. I honestly don’t know what’s worse when it comes to abandoned cart, VTEX or RD. It’s way too complicated, man.

Thanks for the info @andremiani! Always attentive and supporting us here :blush:
Have a great weekend!

thanks for the info @nat and @andremiani! Thanks for the reply and the help.
