Site-editor component with "drag" behavior

Good afternoon everyone,

I would like to know if there is any widget in the Site-Editor that enables a “drag” option for page elements (for example, something like this library: https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-draggable)

If not, would there be any way to customize the Site-Editor in order to add that behavior to it?

Thank you!

Good morning, @guycanella!

I checked internally and we used to have the Disposition Layout app, but it was deprecated and we no longer recommend using it.

Apparently we don’t have an equivalent alternative for it today, so the remaining option would be to change the order of the blocks directly in the page’s code.

I’ll check internally with our team to confirm whether there’s any other solution available, but I don’t think there is. :slightly_frowning_face:

Good morning Karina! Thank you very much for your reply.

I think my question might not have been very clear. What I’d like to do is: given a block in the Site Editor, let’s say it contains 2 texts, I’d like to be able to choose the position of those texts within the block using drag behavior, without having to go into the code to do so.

The idea was to make this practical for the client: they place the texts in the block and decide for themselves where those texts will go (via drag behavior).

Does this functionality exist, or something along those lines? If not, is it possible for us devs to implement this within the Site Editor itself?

Hey, @guycanella! How’s it going?

So… that’s exactly what I understood :slightly_frowning_face:

We had an app that had this feature, but it was deprecated — I’m checking with my team to see if we currently have any other solutions for that.

Ahhh sorry for my misunderstanding then.

I’ll be waiting, Karina. Thank you very much

Hi @guycanella, based on what I’ve checked on my end, the answer I gave you previously still stands.

In the past, we had the Disposition Layout app, but it was deprecated.

So, at this point we don’t have an equivalent alternative for it — the remaining option would be to change the block order directly in the page’s code.

Perfect, Karina! Thank you so much for your help.
