Hello there,
I am managing an e-commerce site on the VTEX platform and have been facing challenges with cart abandonment. Our data shows that a significant number of users are leaving the site during the checkout process; and I am looking for strategies to optimize this crucial part of the shopping experience.
Our current checkout page is functional; but I am curious if there are best practices or design elements that others have found to reduce abandonment rates. Are there particular layouts; color schemes; or UX elements that have proven effective?
We are offering the standard payment methods; but I am wondering if introducing alternative payment options like digital wallets or buy now; pay later services could help. Has anyone seen positive results from expanding payment options; and if so; which ones?
We are considering offering a guest checkout option to streamline the process for new customers. I am interested in hearing from those who have implemented this feature: Did it have a noticeable impact on conversion rates?
Also, I have gone through this post; https://help.vtex.com/tutorial/setting-up-abandoned-carts–tutorials-ccsp/ which definitely helped me out a lot.
How transparent should we be about shipping costs and delivery times during checkout? Does displaying this information upfront help in reducing cart abandonment, or could it potentially drive users away?
Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.
