Integration question: do I need to be a VTEX Partner for everything? 🤔

Hey everyone! How’s it going? :waving_hand:

I was reading the official documentation about the integration possibilities with VTEX (App Development & REST API) (which, by the way, is super well structured ), and I had a question that I think might be relevant to others as well.

I understood that to create Storefront Apps you don’t need to be part of the VTEX Partner program. But I got to thinking: for any other interaction with VTEX, such as creating apps or communicating with the official VTEX API (accessing endpoints or creating private apps for my own store, for example, etc.), is it also mandatory to be a VTEX partner? Or are there use cases that don’t require that formality?

Thanks in advance for your attention and any insights! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hi @brunoleal, how’s it going?

You don’t need to be a partner to create apps on vtex store apps.

All you need is knowledge in frontend and backend development, architecture, and management so that everything is planned and executed following best practices.

Except for creating a custom Payment Provider Protocol, for which you need VTEX’s approval.

Hope that helped.

Cheers,
Estevão.
