On the VTEX platform, you have the option to register physical stores, franchisees, and representatives of your network as franchise accounts. This is a way to expand your Unified Commerce or Omnichannel strategy.
A franchise account is associated with a main account. In the case of a brand that has multiple physical stores, franchisees, or representatives, each of them can have a franchise account linked to the brand’s main account. This allows them to fulfill products sold through the brand’s ecommerce.
Franchise account characteristics
A franchise account inherits the Catalog from the main account, but has its own Logistics and handles its own Order Management, so the physical store can manage orders and fulfill product deliveries.
Additionally, by using a franchise account, you can manage prices and payment methods, or choose to inherit them from the main account. For more information about Franchise Account Settings, see the article in VTEX Helper.
A franchise account does not have its own website: consumers browse directly on the main account’s website, which acts as a marketplace in this situation. Customer data is stored in the main account’s Master Data.
How do I request the creation of a franchise account?
To open a franchise account, contact our Growth Operations team through Support by selecting the Commercial option and the request type Create White Label Environment.
Creating a franchise account will incur a cost as outlined in your OMS contract. If it is not included in your contract, add this note to your request so that a corresponding contract amendment can be made.
The fields should be filled in with the following information:
- Master User Email
- Seller Names: composed of (Main VTEX Account) + suffix
If the number of accounts exceeds ten, please include them in a table format as an attachment.
