I’m the Ecommerce Coordinator at Equipafácil, and we recently started migrating from TrayCommerce to VTEX. Our main motivation for this migration was the ability to work with multiple distribution centers within the same platform, since we operate in Santa Catarina and São Paulo with 2 distribution centers.
Our ERP is Bling, where we can also register more than one warehouse. However, at this early stage of integration I’m running into a huge difficulty — I can’t find any documentation that properly explains how to set up products to work with more than one warehouse. I’m only able to export products from Bling by selecting a single warehouse or the combined stock balance from all of them.
Let’s dive in… Adding my here, integrations between VTEX and an ERP are done through APIs — basically nothing changes in your product catalog, but rather in your inventory and dock records.
With that said, you can create/update inventories using the Create/update warehouse API. If you’re not sure whether you already have a warehouse set up, you can list all existing ones using the List all warehouses API.
Now, talking about Docks, we have corresponding APIs for both cases mentioned in the previous paragraph:
Basically, you’ll need to register the inventory corresponding to each warehouse and respectively to each of its docks, which can also have their own Shipping Policies.
