Meta integration for Piel and Conversion API without integaring catalog

Hi, I represent one of Meta Business Partners. Our client is using VTEX and their catalog is integrated with Meta (https://help.vtex.com/en/tracks/facebook-integration--7h8KvIC4DbRRc8VlyJ8PFc/4THXfWqYHqMZGGk6zgrk7K) and they have also Pixel and Conversions API integration. We would like to keep the tracking integrations, but we would like to remove the catalog integration, as it will be processed via our platform. Is it possible to set up the integration this way?

Thank you.

Good morning, team!

We are revisiting some topics in our community that went unanswered, and I found yours.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to not perform the catalog integration but keep the tracking integration, for example. This is because our catalog integration enables orders to come directly to VTEX, which then allows for tracking integration of those orders. What is not possible without the catalog integration.

Hi,

Yes, this is definitely possible.

You can use your platform for the Meta catalog while keeping the existing Pixel and Conversions API (CAPI) tracking on the VTEX site.

The one critical step is to ensure the product IDs match.

The new catalog you upload must use the exact same content_id for each product that the VTEX tracking is currently sending. This is required because of the way the Conversions API connects tracking events to your catalog. As long as those IDs align, your dynamic ads will work perfectly.

For a full explanation of how this works, you can read this Facebook Conversions API guide.

Hi Olivia,

Thank you for coming back to this topic. You mention “The new catalog you upload”. This is what we do now. We create a “mirror” catalog, that is not managed by VTEX, but contains the same products.

But we would like to keep the catalog the client is already using with VTEX. We would like to fetch product data from VTEX and use it to manage the existing catalog, but keep the tracking on direct VTEX integration with Meta. But we need VTEX to stop updating the products in the Meta catalog directly. It needs to go through our platform.
