Is everyone aware of the VTEX announcement about the new Master Data charges for Non-Native Entities sent on June 1st?
According to the email, the charges take effect starting in June, but it also mentions that we’ll have until June 29th to make adjustments, and that on that date consumption will be reassessed to establish the billing baseline.
Many VTEX implementations have been using Master Data to store custom information for years, including in scenarios recommended by the platform itself. Depending on the volume stored, this change could have a significant financial impact on some operations.
I think it’s worth sharing experiences because I imagine quite a few people were caught off guard. I also recommend that admins reach out to those responsible for their companies’ VTEX contracts and accounts to make sure everyone is aware of the change and has time to evaluate possible adjustments before the billing baseline is locked in.
