VTEX Tracking: Routing Target (%) and Estimated Distance Traveled

Good afternoon, I would like to understand the premises and rationale configured for two pieces of information: “routing” and “estimated distance traveled”.

Thank you,

Hi Marcela [@mueda], how are you?

Welcome to our community

I’m not sure I fully understood your question.

What exactly are you trying to do?

But I found two links that might help, at least conceptually:

How to calculate the distance between two points:

And here you have a step-by-step guide to calculate routing:

Besides that, there’s this other link with ready-made code to help you understand how to calculate the distance between two points in Google Maps.

Hi André!
Thanks for the contribution!!!
So does the VTEX tracking tool use Google to calculate distances and plan routes? I did a comparison of the two references and there’s a deviation of 10 to 15%.

Hey @mueda, I honestly can’t say for sure, but I believe there’s a good chance it is. Perhaps VTEX’s system is more robust than this calculation, which I believe basically does a straight-line calculation.

@georgebrindeiro, do you know why this discrepancy exists? Also, Brindeiro, the links indexed on Google for VTEX Tracking are all wrong, pointing to https://vtex.com/br-pt/tracking/ when they should be pointing to https://vtex.com/br-pt/vtex-tracking/
